Sharre Young has been a student and explorer of yogic science, spirituality and the esoteric healing arts since her first yoga class in 1986 and simultaneous reading of Autobiography of a Yogi by Parmahansa Yogananda.

Her foundational years of Hatha Yoga practice were in the Iyengar method (1986-2005) and studied 9 years with Kofi Busia (1996-2005) as well as Manouso Manos (2002-2005).

Upon discovery of the Ashtanga Vinyasa method in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 1999, she began a full exploration of this irresistible practice and was awarded a “Yoga Shikshak” teacher-training certificate in India (2001) for her studies with M.S. Vishwanath, nephew and long-time student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, as well as receiving a teacher training certificate from “It’s Yoga” of San Francisco (1999) from Larry Shultz.

Sharre has studied with Natanaga Zhander (Shandor Remete) founder of the Shadow School of Yoga since 2005, has completed the foundational 3 years in his teacher training program. She is his continuing student and also studies with Mark Horner (senior student of Shandor Remete).

“In my experience, the Shadow / Nata Yoga approach as taught by Shandor Remete have provided the key and missing links to the Hatha system, revealing a practice experience that is subtle, sustainable and ever-deepening…I’ve felt no need to look elsewhere for guidance since discovering this method.”

In 1996 Sharre began a focused practice of Vipassana Meditation in the tradition of S.N. Goenka and continued daily practice and study of Buddhism for the next seven years. Her exploration included 4 trips to India and Sri Lanka to follow Theravada Buddhist priest and master spiritual healer Bhante Wellawatte Seelagawesi. with whom she studied Insight Meditation and chanting of sacred the Buddhist liturgy (from the Pali Cannon known as “Pirith”) as well as Pranic Healing.

In 2001 she met local “Advaitic du jour” Adyashanti, a Californian-grown Master of amazing depth. She attended satsangs, retreats and worked as a volunteer for Adyashanti’s Sangha organization (Open Gate) from 2001-present. Her favorite volunteer task has been transcribing Adyashanti’s talks.

Other highly influential spiritual mentors that were closely followed between 2002-2009 are Leonard Jacobson and Mother Meera. Currently Sharre is a student of Sri Sai Kaleshwar Swami of Penukonda India. Author of “The Real Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ,” and Master healer renowned for his miraculous abilities.
